Wear to corners and top and bottom of spine, a two-inch split at edge of spine, but gilt lettering on spine is still bright. Light paint splatters on front cover. Not the publisher's original binding, text block has been trimmed, affecting only the copyright statement on title page. Deaccessed from a major music library, but with only one stamp on front paste-down, no pockets or other library evidence. With it's faults still a pleasing volume, lovingly bound within 25 years of the first performance in 1881.
